Rio Pérez (they/them) is a Venezuelan artist, educator, and storytelling based in Minneapolis, MN. Through photography, collage, and filmmaking, they seek to build a visual archive of family histories, liminality, and transnational love.

Pérez received a dual B.A. degree in Art, Film & Visual Studies and History & Literature from Harvard College. Their academic focus was contemporary Latine and Latin American visual art. They also hold a Masters in Education degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

As a marketing and communications professional with experience in nonprofits and higher education, they strive to tell stories that center young people’s voices and strengthen their sense of belonging.
